Cooking school is back this year! A one-week, hands-on culinary experience focusing on organic farm-to-table cuisine and nutrition awaits you at Golden Door, the San Marcos, California, resort named 2015 “World’s Best Destination Spa” by readers of Travel + Leisure Magazine. Executive Chef Greg Frey Jr. and the culinary team along with nutrition experts provide classes, tours and an opportunity to prepare and serve the class “graduation” dinner. Golden Door Cooking School welcomes participants at all levels of cooking experience.

Highlights of Golden Door Cooking School include healthy kitchen basics (knife skills, stocks, vinaigrettes and simple healthy sauces); flavor and health benefits of using herbs and spices; healthy cooking techniques (how to purchase, handle, store and prepare vegetables); eating to detox and the purpose and function of what we eat; organic garden, organic farm and bee hive tours; healthy desserts demonstration; guest speaker from the Distinguished Speaker Series; and farewell dinner.
